Communicating with Our Ancestors

Communicating or wanting communication with our ancestors is the focal point of the whole process. We want to invite them back in our lives and let them lead our way as they hold the key to our destiny. Many things have swayed us off our relationship with our ancestors and it goes way back from our grand parents. Now we realize that we are off track and nothing works in our lives. Our lives have turned to a mere misery. Therefore, now it's time to go back to how things are supposed to be done and how they were done back emandulo.

How do we communicate with the ancestors?

When you have mastered ukuphahla nothing and no one can stand on your way. When you have mastered UKUPHAHLA you have gotten the key to move your ancestors and your angels. They let you know of everything you need to know and what needs to be done; meaning you are never in the dark. Therefore, it is very critical to know how to move them.
I have been mentioning the things that are critical xa uphahla and now let's get to how do you call upon your ancestors and how do you move them. You start by ukucamagushisa or ukuthokozisa depending on your tribe. Then you move to calling all your clan names or surnames or names depending on how you do it as a tribe and you start from your father's side by order of ubudala babo then move to your mother's side. If your parents are not married then you start from your mother's side and move to your maternal granny's side. When you are done ngamagama you move to the ancestry composition. You start by greeting Umnguni, then move to uMndawu noMndiki, Abalozi (if you do have), then Isithunywa and all those you know you have. If you know umnikazi, you start ngaye and usually uMnikazi ibanguMndawu. Then you move to the spiritual places where you know your ancestors stay; such as rivers, mountains, caves, oceans, waterfalls and so on. Then you greet your spiritual animals as well; meaning you don't leave anything that forms your ancestry and this way you are moving them and inviting them to be with you and guide you. EsiXhoseni, the way you call upon your ancestors xa uphahla is the same way ucamagushisa ngayo entlombeni. Nikhumbule ukuba igqirha ligqirha ngokucamagushisa. So, the whole point of ukuphahla is to move your ancestry lineage or life and make it part of you. When you leave them behind, whom do you expert to guide you? Hence it is critical to acknowledge and communicate with them. In this way you make them the leaders of your life and journey and your way of saying I depend on you bantu abadala. When you are done nge ancestors, you move on to Isithunywa/Prayer. You pray and in your prayer never forget to ask Isithunywa sakho to work hand in hand with your ancestors to create a better life for you and make you a better person by guiding you and showing you the secrets or mysteries of life. These secrets and mysteries of life are the things you need to know in your journey so that you are always in the light.

The first thing that you do is to call on them starting from your father's side if your parents are married and move to your mother's side. If your parents never got married then you start from your mother's side then move to you maternal grand parent's side and move to the partenal grand parent's side. You move down your family tree and stop where you no longer know who follows.

Then you start by apologizing for any wrong doings that you might and have done and tell them that now you plan to build a strong relationship with them and revive whatever that has died in the ancestry life. Share your deeper feelings and tell them your heart. Ask for guidance and leadership.
